While the return of GM mode is attracting all the attention, WWE games have historically had some very fun storylines. Whether it was "Road to WrestleMania," the new "M圜areer" mode, or one of the most obscure modes from the past, you can be sure there were some great stories. Luckily, plenty of WWE games have featured story modes that delivered in that aspect. Along with quality gameplay and sweet graphics, the fans often want something with a compelling story. Even when they release less than stellar entries (we're looking at you WWE 2K20), they're among the most popular releases each year. This time, though, especially on the game’s Twitter page, fans are receiving responses and having their complaints, issues, and feedback addressed - reassuring them that 2K Games and Visual Concepts aren’t trying to make the same mistakes as before.For as long as most of us can remember, WWE has been a force in the video game world. With the launch of WWE 2020, some supporters felt like they were being ignored as problems were never resolved and the game remained an overall mess.

Understandably, this has caused fans to be upset as some of these features are what give the title its unique charm. However, since the title’s launch, players have been experiencing multiple server issues which not only affect playing with others online but also uploading custom superstars and playing the MyFACTION mode, even though it’s single-player only. Matchmaking in WWE 2K22 finds itself to be significantly better as the abundance of bugs and poor connection issues has been remedied.

While WWE 2K22 has some missing features such as new or returning match types, full crossplay support, and certain wrestlers on the roster, it does show signs that 2K Games and Visual Concepts are listing to fans and is trying to seek redemption from its previous release.

This time around, the series has a story that heavily encourages different playthroughs as players can find themselves taking different routes across the three wrestling brands. Notably, WWE 2K20 found itself lacking in having variety in match types and its career mode was perceived to be a dull and buggy mess. MyFACTION also makes an appearance that is similar to the mobile game WWE Supercard, as players collect superstars in the form of cards and build a team from there. Universe also makes a return by adding a brand new feature that allows players to exclusively play as a single superstar with the ability to focus only on their matches and storylines. Even though it might appear to be minuscule to some, the settings available in WWE 2K22 play a big role in adding a unique experience into the title that gives it an edge over 2K20.Īnother thing that WWE 2K22 does better than 2K20 is it offers a lot more with multiple gameplay modes, including a revamped M圜areer mode (now titled MyRISE) and brings back MyGM mode. Users can also choose for their gameplay to have more of an arcade-style or simulation feel by being able to adjust features such as weight detection and ground reversals for the AI.
The game’s settings have options such as being able to change any superstar or diva’s ratings to however players please. One thing that WWE 2K22 does is that it can be played based on what the user wants their experience to be like. As a result of the positive feedback that the newest iteration has received, it seems that 2K Games and Visual concepts have embraced the past regarding WWE 2K22. After the controversial launch of WWE 2K20, the wrestling series went on a two-year hiatus.
